ICEF launches new Education Fund

If you will allow us a small departure from our normal news and market intelligence feed, ICEF is pleased to announce the establishment of the ICEF Education Fund, a new initiative to support educational projects around the world. Our first project is CEAC@DIGITAL in Brazil. CEAC@DIGITAL provides IT skills and training to young people living in the Morro dos Macacos favela in Rio de Janeiro. Morro dos Macacos is home to 35,000 residents and, like many slums in Rio, struggles against violence and crime. CEAC@DIGITAL is part of the Center for Digital Inclusion, a non-governmental organisation, providing IT training and facilities to the slum’s youth. This programme supports vital social and economic development in the Morro dos Macacos community, giving young people increased opportunities, including internships, to break the cycle of poverty. To learn more about the ICEF Education Fund and how you can join in to help students around the world, please visit us on icef.com.
